KUB treats home's residents to buka puasa, Hari Raya attire and duit raya

IN CONJUNCTION with the holy month of Ramadan and in the spirit of caring and giving, KUB Malaysia Bhd, an investment holding group, once again hosted a buka puasa function recently to bring cheer and laughter to some 50 old folks at Rumah Orang Tua Al-Ikhlas in Puchong.
The whole programme which cost about RM50,000 saw the group distribute gifts like baju raya, duit raya, sejadah, Yassin booklet, Al-Quran, food and daily essentials to the senior citizens.
"This function was carried out as part of KUB's social corporate responsibility to the less fortunate in our community to help lighten their burden," said KUB group managing director Datuk Mohd Nazar Samad at the old folks house in Puchong.
"Ramadan is a month for us to practice patience and tolerance through fasting. Thus it is an appropriate time for us to do our part in helping them, especially with the Hari Raya celebrations coming up," he added.
Later Mohd Nazar together with KUB chairman Datuk Abdul Halim Abdul Samad, management team and guest broke fast followed by a congregational maghrib prayer and a motivation and religious talk by an independent speaker, Ustaz Muhamad Abdullah.
Rumah Orang Tua Al-Ikhlas Puchong was established in July 2003 as a centre for protection and care primarily for senior citizens.
It currently houses 20 men and 30 women between the ages of 44 and 100. - The Star
